The Danish Defence wished to build experiences within automated robot technology. emagine helped develop the method and governance for the automation, which still functions as a foundation for the agency's implementation of software robots.
The challenge
The Personnel Agency was chosen as the first agency in The Danish Defence to test and put software robots into operation within the area of concern. Focus was given to the administrative service processes, where the purpose was to increase the performance of the processes and focus attention on data quality in the core systems.
The deliverables involved the implementation of three software robots, each of which was to handle an administrative subprocess. The new technology involved critical thinking within the different employee groups, so change management was essential to the project's success.
Solution
emagine's consultant structured the project organization, including the steering committee's composition and focused on project method and change management. Information meetings and roadshows were conducted along the way to engage the different parts of the organization.
The project method was based on agility and Lean Six Sigma. emagine's consultant devised the method and governance to which The Danish Defence is currently compliant. Moreover, the consultant functioned as a sparring partner with central stakeholders in The Danish Defence organization.
Testing at The Personnel Agency proved the implementation of software robots in administrative service processes successful.
Furthermore, the project was given a methodology and governance for the implementation. Overall, this has meant that The Danish Defence made the technology and the method available to the entire agency.
The agency is now in the process of establishing a Robotic Operational Center to support the upcoming work with automation and implemented software robots.
